Itinerary

Day 1: Tuk Tuks, Temples And Hill Tribes

Your guide team will pick you up at 8:30am from Chiang Mai city and transfer you to our training base in the lovely Mae Wang valley about an hour outside  the city.

On arrival at our ‘base camp’ you’ll immediately be introduced to your Tuk Tuk and get started with the driver training. This takes place on off road and will give you plenty of time to get used to your Tuk Tuk and whilst detailed and thorough is of course great fun too! NOTEyou can request a ‘chauffeur driven’ Tuk Tuk for no extra cost allowing you to sit back and soak up the scenery as we head through the stunning mountains, just let us know when you book!)

Once the training is complete you’ll then head off in convoy along tiny winding rural lanes through small farming communities to a remote Temple where you’ll receive a blessing for the adventure ahead.

After a tasty Thai lunch in a great family run restaurant you then head up the valley into the high mountains with our first stop being the beautiful valley of Mae Sapok and a short hike to it’s waterfall. Then you head onwards along spectacular and rarely travelled roads towards our overnight destination of Ban Mae Khlang Luang, a delightful Karen community set amongst the rice terraces surrounded by mountains and forest.

After checking in there’s time to explore the village, see how the community live and try some of the village coffee, straight from the mountains around you.

In the evening you’ll have a traditional Thai style BBQ over the rice fields and perhaps even a well deserved cold beer or two!

Day 2: Hiking, Waterfalls And Lunch In The Jungle

After breakfast you’ll head off to explore the local forests. The hike is around 5-6 km and takes you through fantastic scenery and eventually to a series of stunning waterfalls. You’ll have lunch in a forest clearing and there’s also time to swim if you wish!

After lunch you hike out of the forest and back through the rice terraces into the village. It’s then time to say goodbye to your trusty Tuk Tuk and head back to Chiang Mai city by private minivan.

You’ll arrive back in the city by around 4:30pm – perfect to either head back home ready for the week ahead or to enjoy a night exploring Chiang Mai city.
