Itinerary
Day 1: Tuk Tuks, Temples And Hill Tribes
We’ll pick you up at 8:30am from Chiang Mai city and transfer you to our training base in the lovely Mae Wang valley about an hour outside the city.
On arrival at our ‘base camp’ we’ll introduce you immediately to your Tuk Tuk and get started with some training. This takes place on off road and will give you plenty of time to get used to your Tuk Tuk. NOTE – you can request a ‘chauffeur driven’ Tuk Tuk for no extra cost allowing you to sit back and soak up the scenery as we head through the stunning mountains, just let us know when you book!)
We then head off down winding rural lanes through small farming communities and to a remote Temple where you’ll receive a blessing for the adventure ahead.
After a tasty Thai lunch in a great family run restaurant we then head along small roads up into the mountains with our first stop being the beautiful valley of Mae Sapok and a hike to it’s waterfalls. Then we head onwards towards our overnight destination of Ban Mae Khlang Luang, a lovely Karen community set amongst the rice terraces surrounded by mountains and forest.
After checking there’s time to explore the village, see how the community live and try some of the freshest coffee around you’ll ever taste!
In the evening we’ll have a traditional Thai style BBQ out in the rice fields and perhaps even a well deserved cold beer or two!
